Shuichi Endo says he is taking the photos to raise awareness into the effects of climate change on the tiny Pacific country. Tuvalu is barely two metres above sea level, and the United Nations climate panel estimates sea levels to rise between 18 to 59 centimetres this century. Shuichi Endo hopes his ambitious plan will raise awareness about the plight of Tuvaluans. He says, however, despite the beauty of the islands, photographing 10,000 people is hard work. |
